There comes a time where you want to add a little punch to your drawings. You want to make your characters come alive.

Today I’m sharing with you my super fast technique for creating facial expressions quickly and easily. (Click ‘View this email in your browser’ above if you can’t see the images)

Start with a simple U-shape for the face.

Then add a fringe.

Now time for some more hair.

Let’s add some eyes.

Finally, a mouth.

I call this method ‘Hair, Eyes, Mouth’. Sure, you can go crazy with ears, noses, accessories and the like but look how much variety you can achieve by simply changing around the hair, eyes and mouth.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. How many more face shapes, hairstyles, eyes and mouths can you come up with?!

Have fun practising these this week and as always let me know how you get on.
